Oter is Norway's best kept hip hop secret. Chronically avoiding mainstream attention and radio play, perhaps due to his blatant lyricism or a non-compromising attitude, his poetic and technical qualities are undisputed. Born and raised in the polar town of Tromsø, Oter is a storyteller that transcends hip hop sub genres and time, bridging his early urban musical inspirations and upbringing on the fringes of society in a snow-covered place far above the Arctic circle.

From legendary mixtapes and feature appearances since the mid 2000's, his critically acclaimed 2013 LP debut to his subsequent disappearance from the scene, the mystic aura and buzz around the artist has built constantly until he suddenly amidst the height of the pandemic's first wave re-appeared out of the blue, with a new alter ego 'Young Hoel'. Accompanying him was a potent string of singles with striking audiovisual representations, produced and directed by his producer confidant, Critical.
