THE ARTISTS
THE STORY
The organization behind Northern Expo is Musikkontoret Nord - a network of regional centers for folk music, jazz, pop/rock and music industry in Northern Norway. The network focuses on professional artists and associated support/ industry, concert organizers, as well as artist development and facilitating new venues for live music.
It all started as an idea back in 2018: Bringing selected industry professionals to exotic and exciting locations to present some of our best emerging artists. The first Northern Expo was held in Svalbard and was a success, then C19 hit and we made a digital-covid-edition for SXSW Online 2021 - a straight through live performance production ending up on top of one of Tromsø’s surrounding mountains.
Now it's time for the second edition of Northern Expo, in collaboration with Bodø2024 European Capital of Culture and Scene Nord.
Nordland county where Bodø is situated was included in National Geographic’s guide to the top 30 places to visit in 2024 - and not without reason.
Surrounded by the Norwegian sea and majestic mountains, in combination with the immense cultural scene and vibrant music venues, Bodø is a must-visit.

Thursday, 13 June

Arrival at Bodø Airport / Scandic Havet Hotel
We start off Northern Expo with our opening concert at Svømmehallen Scene; the old public bath transformed into a 1200 cap venue! There will be short performances from all artists.
Friday, 14 June
Bodø, Norway
DAYTRIP
We head by boat to the archipelago outside of Bodø. Far from the city’s distractions we will dive deeper into the artists through concerts and talks. This is a place designed for focus.
Concerts by JOHANNA-ADELE JÜSSI and NORDNORSK JAZZENSEMBLE
First we let yesterday’s experiences sink in, before we meet for lunch and concerts at some of Bodø’s most unique venues.
Concerts with LIV ANDREA HAUGE at Store Studio, EMIL KÁRLSEN at Stormen Bibliotek and MAUD at Beddingen Kulturhus.
After a dinner break we go back to Beddingen Kulturhus for the Northern Expo closing night; concerts with KATARINA BARRUK and NONNE.
